Puppets
Today two Grade 3 student came to help us. Whey came here because most of their class was at the music festival. In gym we played a few tag games and then we played with the scoops. We were all sweating because we had to run lots.
In Science we finished making our puppets. We used brass fasteners to try to connect things. We did big rocks and little rocks to catch up on our work today. One of the big rocks were to finish making our coffee filter earth. We used mostly blue because most of earth is water. After we sprayed water on it and the colours all blended together. When it dried we glued on a picture of us so it looks like we are each holding the world. They look great.
Have a great long weekend everyone.

Today in Science we made a puppet. We decided our puppet need to move, it had to look like an animal or person, it needed to have a place for us to hold it and needed to have decorations and look nice. We will finish them tomorrow.

Spring Reading
Today we did a short spring walk abut we did not make it around the lake because it was so windy. We took pictures of trees and bushes because they are turning green now that it is spring. Some of us took pictures of the grass because it is getting greener in the spring too. We worked in groups to read a book about spring.
In our journals this morning we drew a viper and then we wrote a scary story or what we are scared of underneath it. We also read a story called "Stuck" about a boy who got his kite stuck in a tree. He threw lots of stuff into the tree and they all got stuck too. He even threw up an orangutan and a big boat they got stuck too!
Today in gym we did some badminton and we practiced hitting the birdie by ourselves and then we tried to hit it to a partner. The morning attendance question was do you like popcorn or pretzels. More of us liked popcorn than pretzels. In morning meeting we shared our favorite plant because we are talking a lot about spring this week.
We brought home all of our work from march today and we got a new book order.

Making Plurals

Today we read the Lorax and then we folded a piece of paper to make a booklet. In the booklet we wrote things we can do to protect the air, ground, trees and water. We also learned about how to make words plural. Plural means more than one. We learned that if a word ends with y you have to change the y to an i and add es. Some other words you add an es and for other words you just add an s.
In math we made an apple and a caterpillar that will help us skip count by 10's to 100. We also read a book about counting goats by Mem Fox. It was really funny and we all laughed a lot.

In math we did a race to 50 where we worked with a partner to write all the numbers to 50 in order. We took turns writing numbers and we timed ourselves to see how long it took. We also played connect 4 and made a video of each of us counting to 50
We got a new seating plan where we got to pick our groups and our groups name. We are working together as a group to earn ticks by being kind to others. We can even give other groups ticks.
