Patterns everywhere!

Knitted rainbow
Today talked about patterns in Math. We rotated through 4 math centers. At one center we made pattern bracelets out of beads and pipe cleaners. Grade 2's used 3,4 or 5 colours in their bracelet and Grade 1 used 2 or 3 colours. Another Center was making a pattern paper chains. Another was making a pattern art. The grade 2's even learned about a new kind of pattern called a growing or increasing pattern! We read a book about girl who fond a box of yarn so she knit a sweater for herself. She had more yarn leftover so she knit sweaters for animals and houses in her town. Then a Duke stole her box of yarn but when the duke opened the box there was nothing in it. We had gym today and we played colour tag. If the teacher said the colour of pinnies you were wearing you were it.
