Terry Fox

Terry Fox Statue, Wellington St, Ottawa (491753)
Today we read a book about Terry Fox.  We found out Terry Fox started his run in Newfoundland and ended his run in Ontario.  It also told us Terry Fox lost a leg because his knee was feeling pain and it turned out to be cancer.   In daily 5 we wrote sentences about what we knew about Terry Fox and then we drew a picture.  Some of the Grade 2's had so much to write they needed to write on the back of the page.  At the end of the day we did your Terry Fox run around the lake.
In Science we tested how many paper clips each of the different kinds of magnets will hold.  In math we practiced sorting by two things at the same time.  It was a new way of sorting for us.
Tomorrow we are having our special magnet learning day!
